Receiving Station Information

MODIS

An X-band Earth Observing System direct broadcast (EOS/DB) reception and processing system designed to receive and process data from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) flying on NASA s Earth Observing System Terra and Aqua missions. The receiving station is a 3.6-meter TeraScan SX-EOS system also designed by SeaSpace, Inc. This system has been in operation since August 2001.

AVHRR

An L-band system capable of collecting and processing data from the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) and carried aboard NOAA satellites. This system also provides Arctic acquisition support to NASA Goddard Space Flight Center for the Sea-viewing Wide Field-of-View Sensor (SeaWiFS). The receiving station is a 1.2-m TeraScan system designed by SeaSpace, Inc. of Poway, California. This system has been in operation since August 1993.
